The Luxe Look for Under $100

Heidi Milton

What if I told you a luxe look for your interiors is achievable for under $100?  Current decor trends lean toward a relaxed farmhouse look, but maybe a high end look tickles your fancy.  It’s the price tag that makes it seem out of reach.  If you have a $100 to spend, I am here to share how to get that luxe look for less!

Go for the gold.

A piece of brass and glass accent furniture or new brass hardware on your kitchen or bathroom cabinets instantly upgrades the feel of a room.  No need to go overboard here, just add an accent.  And keep in mind that a can of gold spray paint on an inexpensive piece can be your best bet. Find a luxe look you want to imitate and then search your thrift or discount stores for a similar piece you can spray paint.

Plush velvet for the win.

While we all might yearn for a velvet sofa or arm chair, one priced under $100 would be a rare find indeed.   Instead look for velvet throw pillows or pillow covers, or pick up a yard or two of velvet to recover a bench or ottoman for a deluxe luxe look.

Lucite hits the right note.

If you haven’t noticed, lucite and clear acrylic furniture and accessories abound these days!  Even in the most eclectic interiors, a lucite piece lends an air of luxury.  Look for an accent piece, such as a single chair or small table, or swap out your cabinet hardware.

Upgrade your light fixture.

A beautiful light fixture leaves an impression of luxury like no other.  Statement lighting often has a steep price tag, so keep your eyes open for internet or floor sample sales.  Facebook sale groups can also be good options for a luxe steal.
