Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to start decorating for the holiday that celebrates love! Put away your winter blues and greens and get out your valentine’s day reds and pinks because love is in the air!
One of my favorite decorations for all seasons and holiday’s is a door wreath. I don’t like having a boring front door! A wreath allows it to be warm and welcoming even before you enter the home!
During the fall one of my more creative friends crafted this Harvest Wreath, using the soft fine material of Tulle used for making veils and dresses. She is so crafty!!
Harvest Wreath
This project has been lingering in the back of my mind every since I saw it – thinking, “I could totally take this on!” Valentine’s Day presented the perfect opportunity and, turns out, this project was so super easy!
Supplies Needed:
- 6″ spool of red tulle
- 6″ spool of white tulle
- Straw wreath
- Any extras you want to add
Supplies for Tulle Wreath
Of course you can choose any colors you want for your own personal tulle wreath!
Cut Tulle:
Tulle for Wreath
Cut the tulle into 18″ pieces.
Knot it up:
Use the tulle to tie knots around the straw wreath. I chose to do 3 red and then 1 white. The tulle is super easy to work with!

Then add adornments as you please. I recycled my red bow from my Christmas wreath with the monogrammed “M” and added some sparkly hearts.

I love this look! Not only do I love door wreaths but now I have a fun new hobby for every holiday! Now I can try different styles and designs each year!
Another friend of mine also did a Valentine’s Tulle Wreath for her front door here:

How cute is this? Maybe I’ll try this one for next year! I love how she added the love sign with “lives” and “here” written in the hearts. Walking into that home knowing love lives their sure is a comfortable feeling!

I can’t wait to do one for Halloween – black and orange will be so cute!
Now, another design I love to change up during holidays and seasons is area rugs! It’s always nice to change up the design in your house with every season or holiday just to embrace the changes in the year and to switch up the scenery. The same decor can get boring to look at every single day of the year.
Pink is a popular color during Valentine’s day and the entire month of February, really. So get your pinks out and brighten up the rooms with love and joy!
What a perfect mat for Valentine’s Day! Great for the bathrooms or in the kitchen or welcoming people in right when they walk in the front door!
It’s the simplest things that can make a design so much better and make you feel better! Stop looking at the same old decor you always look at and start changing it up! Get your Valentine designs today!
